Robert Alexander Schumann (1810-1856)

He was a German composer and critic for the New journal of music and was married in 1840 against his father’s wishes. He was a composer who went through periods of depression and was institutionalized after a major breakdown.  Schumann Died at 46 and is known as one of the greatest composers of the romantic era.
