Franz Schubert:

Schubert was a Viennese composer who was musically gifted as well as socially shy. He had regional fame and died at an early age because of syphilis. He was a composer who had both classical and Romantic traits; his chamber music is a late example of Viennese classicism. He was taught basic violin by his father and was given piano lessons by his brother.

  • He wrote over 1500 works in his very short career

  • Wrote 8 orchestral

  • 7 complete symphonies

  • Wrote over 50 chamber works

  • His symphony in B minor remained unfinished for unknown reasons
